November: The Third Best Month for Málaga in National Travelers

Málaga continues to solidify its position as a top destination for national tourism, with November marking the third-best month of the year in terms of Spanish travelers. Over 100,000 tourists stayed in the city’s hotels, reflecting its enduring appeal among both domestic and international visitors.

More Than 100,000 Travelers in November

In total, Málaga’s hotels hosted 129,850 travelers last November, including both Spanish and international visitors. These guests generated 258,279 overnight stays, with an average stay of 1.99 days. The city also achieved an impressive hotel occupancy rate of 78.66%, highlighting strong demand even outside the peak travel season.

Steady Growth in National Tourism

Between January and November 2024, Málaga welcomed 566,223 Spanish travelers, who accounted for 990,556 overnight stays. These numbers demonstrate Málaga’s consistent popularity among national tourists throughout the year.

Focusing on November alone, the number of Spanish travelers increased by 16% year-on-year, reaching 55,607 visitors. This significant growth underscores Málaga’s role as a preferred destination for domestic tourism.

Key Regions Driving National Tourism

Within the national market, the majority of visitors came from Andalusia, totaling 20,678 travelers, or 37.18% of the total. Following Andalusia, the Community of Madrid contributed 14,912 visitors, while Catalonia accounted for 6,368.

Málaga’s Ongoing Appeal

These results confirm Málaga’s growing reputation as a year-round destination, offering an unparalleled combination of cultural attractions, gastronomy, and leisure activities. With such strong performance even in November, the city reinforces its status as one of Spain’s top travel destinations.
